The 2Co911 Program

The saints are God's preferred method to respond to people's spiritual "911" calls for assistance. God blesses his children so they can help others. When Job lost all that he had, God used the people around him to get him back on his feet again. The purpose of 2Co911 is to provide a way for you to meet the basic needs of your neighbors through sharing your blessings. Our current project is in the Dominican Republic. Sharing allows everyone to give thanks to God! The focus of 2Co911 is on building a support system (not a welfare system) that helps supply access to basic needs such as food and water, and battery supplied electricity.

The Current Project: Dominican Republic

The proverb says that if a man is given a fish, he eats one meal but if he is taught how to fish he can eat a lifetime. The Dominican people are very intelligent. They know how to fish, and they are not asking for fish. They need opportunities. They need a fishing pole. 2Co911 wants to provide these proverbial fishing poles. Sometimes christian people in the DR only have half a chance- you can help give them the other half.

In the DR, businesses can be operated if a person has a battery powered generator, water can be distributed from suppliers, and food can be prepared for the hungry - if the people are given the tools they need. These tools are inexpensive for many of us in the US. 100 dollars can buy a generator battery, a rack of five-gallon refillable bottles of water, fuel for water delivery, 1,800 bunches of bananas, two weeks of wages for the saints who are working within the water industry, or about one hundred meals.

2 Cor 9:11

"Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causes through us thanksgiving to God," another translation says, "You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God. (esv)"
